Announcing Three New After- School Classes from Curious-on-Hudson at Pocantico Hills School!

Curious-on-Hudson & the Pocantico Hills PTA is excited to bring in these new enrichment programs starting October 2, 2019! These programs focus on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) enrichment in an engaging, skill-based program.

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Days and Times:
Classes take place on Wednesdays immediately following dismissal at the times indicated (3:00-4:00 PM). Each class runs for eight (8) sessions.  Click below on the register button for a complete list of session dates.

Fall 2019 Classes 

Curiologist: Environmental Science 

In this unit of the Curiologist classes, students will environmental studies through experiments, labs, demonstrations and models. The class is designed to teach an appreciation for the local environment and the eco-systems around them. Students learn about water and soil, as well as the flora and fauna of the local environment. Labs include water testing, sources of energy, pollution and its effects, habitats, effects of climate change and marine life and eco-systems.

Grades: K-2
Wednesdays: 3:00-4:00

STEAM Lab 202 

This is our introduction to STEAM class where students get a taste of a variety of themes including life sciences, engineering, mathematics and technology. The class introduces students to the concept of exploration through experimentation, hands-on labs and observation.  Several classes provide a hands-on project some of which will be taken home at the end of class. (This class is not a continuation to STEAM Lab 101. Anyone who loves STEAM can take this class!)


Grades: 2-4
Wednesdays: 3:00-4:00

YO! You’re Human!

You know what it’s like to run, jump, talk, think, read, see, hear and listen to your heart beat. But how does it all work? In this class, we will explore the science of human physiology through a series of projects and activities that examine the major systems and looks at how our bodily systems work together. Projects include activities to illustrate how our bodies use water, visualizing how your skin works, DNA and measuring your own lung capacity.


Grades: 3-5
Wednesdays: 3:00-4:00
