This class is all about the joy of making things for yourself and developing skills for a lifetime of pleasure.
This class will help you to build woodworking skills for the first time or to improve upon your basic skills. Learn how to use tools properly, how to plan and execute a project, how to design a project in advance, how to finish, how to select and estimate materials, etc.
Students work individually on their projects. This class is taught by a professional woodworker and students are expected to work safely in a focused learning environment.
Taught by Rich Driscoll
Rich is a professional woodworker and artist with experience in construction management. As a graduate of SUNY Delhi, he studied under Floyd Vogt, who (quite literally) wrote the book on carpentry. He then travelled the world to work with renown artists such as Roxy Paine and Robert Buchholz. For a time he both studied and taught permaculture lifestyle and architecture in Guatamala. Rich's original art incorporates a variety of materials, both natural and man-made. He is Curious-on-Hudson's woodworking instructor and shares his creative vision and love of the craft with his students.
