Session I: 4 Wednesdays | 4:00-5:30
Meets 4 times in May (May 3, 10, 17, 24)
In this level of the woodworking program, students are taught skills involved in designing and executing a finished product. Power tools are used in a safe, instructional manner. Curious-on-Hudson woodworking classes for this age group stress safe use of tools, proper planning AND creative expression. Projects are subject to the discretion of the instructor. Al materials are provided. Students keep their own projects.
In the May session, students will create their own projects under the guidance of the instructor.
Taught by Rich Driscoll
Rich is a professional woodworker and artist with experience in construction management. As a graduate of SUNY Delhi, he studied under Floyd Vogt, who (quite literally) wrote the book on carpentry. He then travelled the world to work with renown artists such as Roxy Paine and Robert Buchholz. For a time he both studied and taught permaculture lifestyle and architecture in Guatamala. Rich's original art incorporates a variety of materials, both natural and man-made. He is Curious-on-Hudson's woodworking instructor and shares his creative vision and love of the craft with his students.
